The logo concept for Social Links Golf was built around creating a clear representation of what Jenn wanted the league to stand for: inclusivity, connection, and a relaxed approach to the game. The goal was not to move away from traditional golf branding entirely, but to create something that feels approachable for women of all ages and skill levels.

Design.

The design process focused on creating a logo that is simple to recognize, easy to apply, and consistent across all uses.

Female Golfer Silhouette: I started by refining the silhouette of the golfer to strike the right balance between confidence and approachability. The pose needed to feel natural and relatable while still holding a strong visual presence. This choice reinforces the idea that the league is about participation and enjoyment, not competition.

Circular Frame: This was designed to anchor the composition and create a contained, balanced mark. From there, the floral elements were introduced to soften the structure and reinforce the message of growth, improvement, and progression, aligning with the league’s purpose of helping members build confidence and develop their game in a supportive environment.

The concept was designed as a full system, not just a single logo. Multiple layouts, including stacked, horizontal, and icon-only versions, ensure the identity works across digital platforms, apparel, and print without losing clarity or recognition.

Typography plays a key role in how the brand is perceived. The script-style wordmark used for “Social Links” introduces movement, femininity and personality. It communicates a social, relaxed tone that matches the league’s purpose. Supporting this is a clean sans-serif typeface used for “Ladies Golf League,” which keeps the overall identity grounded and readable across all applications.

The colour palette was selected to support both function and message. Cerulean blue represents trust and professionalism, while turquoise introduces energy and inclusivity. These colours work together to create a brand that feels welcoming without losing structure. Black and white are used for contrast and flexibility across different backgrounds and media.

The final logo communicates exactly what Social Links Golf is built on. It shows that the league is structured, welcoming, and designed for participation over competition. The female golfer, circular form, and supporting elements work together to create a clear and immediate understanding of the brand.

This aligns directly with Jenn’s vision. She wanted a league that removes barriers and makes golf more accessible. The logo reflects that by avoiding traditional, rigid golf visuals and replacing them with something that feels open and easy to engage with.

When the idea was presented to give a new look to the site, there were some functionality changes that needed to be made as well. Trimlock had made some major changes to some specific areas of their business that weren’t covered by the design we did back in 2021, as they say….life moves fast.

I was excited to give the website a more professional and streamlined look. The major focus was to create a site that focused on their new goals, but stayed true to their brand and the professional products they create.

Design.

As with all my design projects, I began by extracting key branding elements from available resources, focusing on colours, font choices, and the overall look and feel.

My goals for the new design for 2025 included:

1. Enhanced User Flow: Restructuring the information layout to ensure a seamless user experience, making it easy for visitors to find what they need.
2. Increased Call-to-Actions: Incorporating clear and compelling call-to-action buttons to guide users toward desired actions, such as contacting TrimLock or exploring product details.
3. SEO Optimization: Implementing best practices for SEO to boost organic search rankings and drive more traffic to the site.
4. Dynamic Design Elements: Utilizing high-resolution images, vibrant colours, and modern formatting to make the website visually appealing and reflective of TrimLock’s innovative spirit.
5. Brand Consistency: Leveraging the unique colours and contrasts in TrimLock’s logo to create a cohesive and attractive design that stands out.

For each page, I implemented a striking hero section featuring animated high-resolution photos of TrimLock’s product lives. The layout prioritized information flow, supported by new imagery provided by the client. I used orange buttons, matching their logo, to highlight links to informational PDFs, and white and blue backgrounds to separate sections. Custom icons were designed to represent each product application.

New pages included a Gallery page, which allowed Trimlock to showcase its products. A cool “Before and After” gallery was added to emphasize how their products can create curb appeal for any structure. The contact section was revamped to become its own page, and we expanded the “Product Resources” page to include much more downloadable information for their clients.

The initial design for the TrimLock Ltd. website was one of my proudest projects. The site’s modern, mobile-friendly look features clear, concise information presented with SEO-friendly text hierarchy and vibrant colours. 

However, like all things in this world, nothing is ever perfect. As Trimlock changed, so did the website. We removed some modern design elements, expanded on the information that was available, simplified the colour palette, and created a more elegant and clean design.

From the start, the logic was clear: simplify the user journey and modernize the brand presence. The conceptualize phase focused on integrating the newly created visual identity into a site structure built around vertical, scroll-based flow: fewer clicks, more immediate context. The new logo had to align with their industrial domain, projecting strength and technical precision while being readable across digital media.

I mapped out a pared-down navigation hierarchy so critical service pages (Explosive Storage, Welding & Fabrication, Plasma Cutting, Drilling Solutions) take center stage. The concept also included building a flexible content module system so future expansions or product lines could slot in without major structural changes.

Design.

Throughout the build, I used the brand colour palette, typography choices, and design modules so every page feels consistent. I also optimized for responsiveness, ensuring the site adapts cleanly on mobile, tablet, and desktop. During the build, emphasis fell on four core areas.

   • I developed a clean, strong logo to replace the old bear JPG.
   • The new mark works in monochrome and full colour, and scales well for signage, helmets, and digital headers.
   • Providing Kodiak with a unified identity across all media.
2. Scroll-First Structure & Navigation
   • • New site is built around a scroll-based layout rather than deep, multi-click tiers
     • Key service sections appear in full-width segments, allowing users to absorb what the company offers
     • Navigation is sticky, section-aware, and reduces the need to backtrack.
3. Clear Service Display & Call-to-Action Placement
   • • Service pages were reworked to show high-impact visuals, concise descriptions
     • Clear “Get a Quote” or “Contact Us” CTAs
     • I ensured each service page leads visitors toward conversion: explosive magazines, welding & fabrication, drilling components, etc.
     • Images and icons provide visual cues to reinforce messaging.
4. Content Clean-up & Focused Messaging
   • • The old site included pages and content that no longer aligned with current operations.
     • I audited every section, removed outdated or redundant content, and rewrote core pages to reflect Kodiak’s current capabilities.
     • Reduced clutter, improved SEO focus, and made the site more navigable.

The result is a clean, functional build that supports Kodiak’s services without overcomplicating the user experience. Every section is intentional, every page has a purpose, and the site is set up to scale as the business grows.

The strategy began with building a site structure that was clear, direct, and organized. I translated the new brand visuals into a minimal layout that uses strong type, generous white space, and clear call-to-actions.

From a user perspective, the website needed to:

• Make it obvious what Social Links is

I chose WooCommerce as the e-commerce engine due to its flexibility and full integration with WordPress. It allows full control over the sign-up flow, registration capacity, product organization, and payment processing, all in one system. The entire layout was planned around action-based navigation, getting people to browse offerings, click to register, and pay, with as few steps as possible.

Design.

With the structure and functionality mapped out, I moved into the build phase. Using the finalized branding and project goals, I focused on developing a site that was both easy to manage and efficient for users. The design and setup addressed key pain points Jenn had identified. Here’s where we focused our attention:

2. Full WooCommerce Setup:
   • • Product configuration for multiple league types, lesson options, and one-off events
     • Inventory management, so users can’t overbook events or programs
     • Custom checkout flow tailored to registration needs (name, email, phone, preferences)
     • Secure Stripe integration for credit card payments
     • Automatic order emails for confirmation and internal notifications
3. Clear, Structured Information Architecture:
   • • I reduced cognitive load by creating straightforward pages with focused content. Each section of the site has a specific role:
       • How It Works: A step-by-step breakdown of what users can expect
       • FAQ: Covers registration, policies, what’s included, and more
       • Leagues, Lessons, Events: Each with clear pricing, descriptions, and registration options
       • Contact & Support: Easy to reach out if something isn’t clear
     • This approach cuts down on email questions, improves SEO structure, and helps new visitors find what they need quickly.
4. Private Member Area
   • • Members needed access to info not meant for the general public — event schedules, updates, or private invitations. I created a password-protected page where current members can log in to view exclusive content.
     • This is managed manually for now, but it can scale to a full member management system if needed. The structure is already in place.

The end result is a website that looks aligned with the brand, functions smoothly on both front and back ends, and simplifies daily operations. Every element was built with purpose, to support growth, reduce admin work, and deliver a seamless experience for every user.

When I first built the Sylvan Lake RV website, I was working full-time at the dealership and used a pre-built WordPress theme. It served its purpose but had limitations. The theme restricted customization, making it challenging to control individual elements and achieve the desired modern aesthetic.

Recognizing these constraints, I initiated a redesign focused on creating a more visually appealing site with enhanced control over design elements. The goal was to develop a website that not only looked better but also provided a more intuitive user experience.

Design.

The redesign process began with a thorough review of the existing content. Collaborating with the client, we streamlined the site by reducing the number of pages, eliminating redundancies, and focusing on essential information. This approach improved navigation and made the site more user-friendly.

1. RV Inventory Overhaul:
   • The old setup relied on small images and basic slide shows, which didn’t give users a real sense of what each unit looked like. I replaced them with larger, high-quality images and added actual video walkthroughs instead of static slideshows.
   • Each listing is now easier to browse, with clean layouts and all the important information right up front, pricing, features, photos, and specs so users can find what they’re looking for without digging.
2. Clean, Modern, Functional Design:
   • The original site felt dated. It needed a visual and structural refresh to match how people use websites today. I updated the layout with a clean, modern look that reflects Sylvan Lake RV’s brand and makes navigation simple.
   • Fonts and colours were updated for better readability and a more polished appearance. I also made the layout more responsive across devices, so whether you’re on a phone or a desktop, everything works and looks the way it should.
3. Content Audit and Streamlining:
   • Over the course of nearly 10 years, the site had collected a lot of extra pages and content that no longer served a purpose. I worked with Doug to review what needed to stay and what could go. We trimmed the site down significantly, focusing only on pages and content that are useful and relevant.
   • This helped improve load times, made updates easier to manage, and created a better experience for visitors by eliminating distractions and dead ends.

The result is a leaner, sharper, and more effective website, built to showcase inventory, support day-to-day operations, and reflect the current state of the business.

The logo concept was built around themes of tradition, warmth, and a strong sense of place. Josh and Andrew wanted the design to capture the inn’s rich history while feeling timeless and inviting. The primary imagery for the logo would combine something that represented the state of Vermont. After much discussion, we decided the state bird, the hermit thrush, would be a perfect logo. The hermit thrush symbolizes nature and community, tying the inn’s identity to Vermont’s landscape and heritage. The key represents history, access, and the warmth of an open-door welcome. Together, these elements create a visual story that reflects the charm and hospitality of Green Trails Inn.

The secondary logo continues this theme with crossed keys, reinforcing the idea of tradition, history, and hospitality. The logo system was designed for versatility, ensuring it could be used across digital platforms, signage, and printed materials without losing impact. Every detail was carefully considered to create a brand identity that aligns with the inn’s purpose and values.

Design.

The design process focused on crafting a clean, recognizable logo that balances history with modern appeal. The two key visual elements—the antique key and the hermit thrush—were chosen for their deep symbolism and connection to the inn’s identity. I started with different photos of the hermit thrush bird, in different positions (in flight, sitting, singing) to find the right feel for the logo.

The initial drawings had a “chubbier” hermit thrush with his mouth open, singing, and the key was a simple, straightforward design based on one of the room keys the guys sent me a picture of. Over the course of a “few” revisions, we settled on the design you see above. A classic version of the bird and a more intricate antique key for the bird to rest.

The antique key represents hospitality, heritage, and a sense of welcome. It visually connects to the inn’s history and the tradition of opening doors for travelers. The intricate details of the key reflect the timeless charm and character of Green Trails Inn.

The hermit thrush, Vermont’s state bird, reinforces the inn’s connection to nature and community. Known for its melodic song and presence in quiet, wooded areas, the hermit thrush symbolizes peace, comfort, and the natural beauty that surrounds the inn. Its inclusion in the logo emphasizes the tranquil retreat that Josh and Andrew have worked to create.

Typography plays a critical role in strengthening the brand’s identity. The serif typeface, IM Fell English SC, was chosen for its historical connection and old-world charm. Originally designed in the 17th century, this typeface adds a sense of tradition and authenticity. It ensures the brand maintains a classic, refined appearance. The secondary font, PT Serif, provides excellent readability while complementing the elegance of the wordmark.

The colour palette enhances the logo’s message. Brunswick Green reflects nature, balance, and a sense of renewal, making it an ideal choice for a hospitality brand set in Vermont. Chamoisee, a warm, earthy brown, represents tradition, comfort, and rustic charm. Jet Black adds contrast and a timeless quality, while Pure White keeps the overall look clean and refined. These colors work together to reinforce the brand’s message of hospitality and history.

The new logo for the Innisfail Golf Club (IGC) was built on a foundation of history, community, and purpose. The old logo, while significant in its time, no longer represented the essence of the club or its offerings. It featured a tree not native to Alberta, disconnecting it from the local environment. By embracing the rich heritage of IGC, the rebranding process sought to honour tradition while presenting a fresh, modern image. The design captures the story of the club, reflecting its evolution from a small-town golf course to a 27-hole facility with a vibrant community focus.

Design.

The new IGC logo is a modern yet timeless emblem that represents growth, unity, and connection. The design incorporates three distinct leaves, a nod to the club’s three nine-hole courses and the synergy between its old 18 holes and the newer nine. These leaves are intertwined, symbolizing unity and the interconnected nature of the club’s operations and history. The overlapping shapes reference the Irish concept of “destiny,” tying back to the town’s name, Innisfail, which derives from the Irish epithet for Ireland, “Isle of Destiny.”

The chosen color palette plays a vital role in conveying the club’s identity:

• Green: Representing growth, renewal, and connection to nature, green symbolizes the lush fairways and the vitality of the golf course.
• Dark Gray or Black: This anchors the design with sophistication and professionalism, projecting stability and timelessness.
• Golden Yellow Accents: Reflecting optimism and energy, this color evokes warmth and approachability, inviting both members and guests to engage with the club.

From a psychological standpoint, these colors work together to evoke feelings of trust, excitement, and renewal, while remaining grounded and approachable.

The design also considers functionality and versatility. The logo is adaptable across various mediums, from digital platforms to physical signage, ensuring that the brand remains consistent and impactful no matter where it’s seen.

2. Enhanced Ticketing System:
   • A brand-new online ticketing system was integrated via Showpass, making it easier than ever for patrons to purchase tickets. The system is seamlessly embedded into the site, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for users.
   • The ticketing system also allows for clear communication of event dates, times, and pricing, reducing confusion and encouraging conversions.
3. Detailed Information on Ol’ Moose Hall:
   • The theater’s home is a story in itself, and the website provides a comprehensive overview of its history and renovations. Visitors can learn about the building’s transformation into a cultural landmark, complete with photos and narrative content that add depth to the story.
   • A seating chart was also created, giving users a clear visual of the venue layout and helping them make informed seating choices when purchasing tickets.
4. Interactive and Visual Design:
   • High-quality imagery from past productions brings the theater’s work to life on the site. These visuals are paired with engaging text to create a compelling narrative.
   • A clean, modern layout ensures the website is visually appealing while keeping the focus on the theater’s mission and events.
5. SEO Optimization:
   • The site was designed with SEO in mind, ensuring it ranks well for key terms like “community theater,” “Innisfail events,” and “local productions.” This helps attract more traffic and potential audience members.

The creation phase brought the Innisfail Town Theater’s story to life through a carefully crafted design that transformed ideas into a vibrant, user-friendly platform that connects the past, present, and future of the theater.

The existing pop-up banner design for MEE Cluster and their LEAP program was stale and basic, lacking visual interest and failing to capture the innovative essence of the brands. After a detailed discussion with Peter, it became clear that the new design needed to visually represent the transformation of “Chaos into Order,” mirroring what the MEE Cluster achieves for its clientele. This project required adhering to MEE Cluster and LEAP’s branding guidelines, including specific colours and fonts, while incorporating modern imagery and custom tech-related icons such as computer chip graphics and strategically placed lines.

Design.

Step 1. The creation process began with brainstorming and sketching out concepts that could effectively convey the “Chaos into Order” message. I found a great stock image to work with and then utilized my Illustrator skills to create an image mask of chaotic squares moving into organized order to create the final image – used at the top of both banners.

Step 2. Integrate bold, modern imagery and custom icons related to the tech field to enhance the visual appeal. The existing pop-up banners had no flow for the eye to follow the information in an organized manner. By creating these icons I was able to pair them with the important information.

Step 3. Utilizing a clear text hierarchy, I organized the information within each brand’s guidelines to guide viewers through the content seamlessly.

Step 4. Recognizing that pop-up banners are meant to be viewed quickly, I reduced the provided text to concise bullet points, ensuring key messages were easily digestible.

Step 5. To provide easy access to additional information, QR codes were added, allowing viewers to quickly scan and explore further details about MEE Cluster or the LEAP Program.

The final products were two cohesive and visually striking banners that communicated the core messages of MEE Cluster and the LEAP program effectively. The modern design touches, including the use of tech-inspired graphics and a well-structured text hierarchy, made the banners more engaging and informative. The banners brought a fresh, dynamic look that drew attention at tradeshows, conferences, and networking events.

1. Visual Appeal: Utilizing the beautiful landscapes and scenic views of the Innisfail Golf Club, we incorporated high-quality images throughout the document. This not only made the package more attractive but also gave potential clients a visual taste of what to expect at the golf course.
2. Organic Layout: Structuring the information in a more organic layout, made it easier for users to navigate the various options available. By breaking down the content into clear, digestible sections, I ensured that users could quickly find the information they needed without feeling overwhelmed.
3. Simplified Terms and Conditions: One of the major improvements was simplifying the Terms and Conditions. In the original document, I found an abundance of “Conditions” requiring customers to sign off scattered throughout the layout. I simplified these into a single page, making them straightforward to read, understand and sign off on. This simplification removed any confusion or potential barriers to booking a tournament.
4. Fillable PDF Contract: To streamline the booking process, I created a fillable PDF contract at the end of the document. This allowed clients to easily fill out their choices, ensuring clear communication of their preferences to the IGC staff.

I needed the document to reflect the high standards of the Innisfail Golf Club and its dedication to customer satisfaction.
