Dustbusters Auto Detailing is a small business operating in the new Mackenzie Business Park in Red Deer, Alberta. It is owned and operated by an ambitious young man, Dylan. I was at a meeting with one of my other clients when Dylan’s father walked in with brochures and business cards promoting their business. He was discussing revamping their website with my client and they pointed at me and explained that I was the one that handled their website and other marketing tools.
The initial meeting went great! I sat down with Dylan (and his father) to go through their existing website and discuss the pros and cons of what they currently had. From there, we also discussed additional items that either I thought would be a benefit to the site or items that they wanted to see. At the end of the day the opportunity was to:
- Update the website design to something more modern and attractive
- Create more “call to actions” in order to drive business directly from the site
- Showcase their services using
the largenumber of high resolutionimages and videos
- Increase SEO rankings using standard methods
- Restructure and reorganize site for a simple and user-friendly experience
Dustbusters started me off with a vast number of high-quality images and wonderfully created marketing videos showcasing their services. This is always great for a web designer as it instantly gives flexibility in the design, as well as inspiration. The approach to the design was to structure the design in such a way that focused on the “main” services that Dustbusters provided. These 3 KEY services would be the major draw to potential visitors and thus the site should focus on that.
I segmented the homepage into areas that Dustbusters wanted to focus on. The services they provide, the results and previous customer reviews. By doing this, we could easily get the website audience to find information quickly and begin to build the idea of expertise in the Dustbuster brand.
The subpages were built out focusing on each of the 3 Key services that Dustbusters offers. It was important to continually draw attention to the additional services – as it may provide the opportunity to “Up-Sell” or provide information about services customers may not know existed. In addition to providing a clean, modern look – the primary function of the website redesign was to provide easy access for customers to contact Dustbusters and book an appointment. With that in mind, there was a contact form added to every page providing motivation for website viewers to contact Dustbusters.
The end result is something that the customer and I are both extremely happy with. It is a great representation of the client and his business.
